TCS NQT Backgroud Verification Full Process 2025, Result Update

Here’s a more detailed and human-friendly version of the TCS NQT Background Verification Process explained step by step in a blog-style format, suitable for a website post:

Just cleared the TCS NQT and received your offer letter?
Congratulations! You’re one step closer to starting your IT career at one of India’s most respected companies. But before you officially become a TCS employee, there’s one final and very important step – the Background Verification Process, also known as BGV.

Background Verification is basically a way for TCS to make sure all the information you provided is real and correct.
TCS wants to confirm that:

  • You actually graduated from the college you mentioned
  • Your marks are genuine
  • Your ID proofs are valid
  • You’re not hiding anything suspicious

Think of it as a company just double-checking your details before trusting you with a job.

Step 1: Document Upload

Once you get selected, TCS will ask you to upload several documents . Here’s a list of what you’ll usually need:

  • 10th & 12th marksheets and certificates
  • Graduation marksheets (all semesters) and degree/provisional certificate
  • PAN Card (very important for salary account and tax)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport-size photograph (recent and formal)
  • Internship/work experience proof (if any)
  • Address proof (utility bill/ration card/bank statement if Aadhaar is not updated)

Note : All details like your name, date of birth, and marks should match across documents.

  • Your year of graduation
  • Your actual marks
  • Your college’s recognition and affiliation

You don’t need to do anything here unless TCS specifically asks you for clarification or extra documents.

If you’ve shown any previous internships or job experience, they’ll verify that too.
They’ll confirm:

  • Whether you actually worked there
  • Your role
  • Duration of employment
  • Any behavioral issues or absconding history

Never submit fake experience — it will 100% get caught and your offer will be cancelled.

The BGV process usually takes around 2–4 weeks.
Sometimes, it may take longer due to:

  • Delay from your college in responding
  • Incorrect documents
  • Name mismatch

Keep checking your TCS NextStep portal — your status will keep updating.

Submitting low-quality or unclear scanned documents
Mismatch in name/DOB across PAN, Aadhaar, and marksheets
Incorrect address or phone number
Lying about academic gap or fake internship
Missed calls/emails from TCS or their verification team

You’ll usually be informed via email or phone call. Sometimes, TCS gives you a chance to re-upload documents or explain discrepancies.

If the issue is serious (like fake certificates), your offer may be cancelled permanently.

Double-check every document before uploading
Ensure all personal info is correct
Keep your phone/email active during this period
Stay patient — the process takes timeBe honest — that’s the best way to crack any BGV!
